Good health is an asset. It allows you to do everything you set out to do in life. It gives you an advantage because you have the strength, stamina, and desire to live the life of your dreams. When you’re healthy physically and mentally, few things get in your way. You have the self-confidence needed to achieve your goals and live as authentically as possible.

If you continuously work on improving yourself, you likely have some things in mind that you can do to help you get past obstacles. Even if you’re not sure where to start but know that improvements are necessary for growth, you’ll be better for making the decision. To help you with your journey, we’ve come up with a list of things you can do to start feeling better right away.

Here are five things you can do today to improve your health as a woman:

  1. Attend all scheduled appointments with your OBGYN. Have regular health screenings and see Dr. Ahmadinia for all follow-up visits. Make preventative care a priority.
  2. Make sure that you eat a nutrient-dense diet full of fresh fruits and vegetables. Visit your local farmers market or health food store. Buy organic whenever possible, and experiment with new ingredients or recipes until you find some dishes you love to cook.
  3. Find a way to reduce stress. Meditate. Journal. Paint. Take your dog for a walk. Whenever you feel the tension in your body, make it a point to change your perspective.
  4. Take a vacation. Many Americans are too afraid to use their paid-time-off. Don’t be. Plan a trip to somewhere you’ve always wanted to go as a mental health break from your day-to-day schedule.
  5. Say no to some of the things that you don’t want to do. You should have some downtime and feel relaxed than be so busy that you feel resentful. If it’s something you don’t need to do, but someone has asked you to do, say, “No.”

Do everything you can to improve your health, so you live a happier and healthier existence going forward. Thanks to the suggestions listed above, you’ll be able to implement better habits into your daily routine. You’ll then be able to benefit from the inclusion of them because they’re meant to improve your health and your life.
